If you do have grains, sprouted are probably easier on the gut for sure. Some opt for no grains altogether, some occasional. It's finding what does work for you (and can depend on how your health is now).

I have heard that sprouted grains and legumes do not effect the body the same way as their non-sprouted counterparts. Do you know how these would affect leaky gut?
Thanks.
BTW, your blog has been the most helpful that I've found so far. So much out there, it's confusing.

Hi Mike,

I love your blog, well done.

I have just been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, as well as leaky gut and lactose intolerant, so this article is very interesting. I am in so much pain every day and is very stressing on my body, especially as I still have to work, and is so hard being on my feet for 8 hours or more a day.

I have recently bought your 2 meal solution, so if I follow that and stick to what you say above, will I see improvement, because this is really taking a toll on my body and mind.

Ilia - things like buckwheat and quinoa are labeled as "gluten free" (gluten being the biggest allergen to some) and rice as well. People with gluten intolerance seem to tolerate these as well. The best approach to any diet is of course variety and rotation, not the same things all the time. So even if you have something once in a while, your gut can recover from it....whereas have it all the time and it gets worse and worse. Enjoy a variety of foods on a rotating basis and you should be ok.
